An Amazing New York Night!!

Last night Theresa, and Xav, and Polina, and Kim and Lillie (in this picture with Xav standing in the backyard covered with the tent) and a few other performers from Providence came to my house, and we had performance night in the backyard, Milwaukee style! It was raining so this guy Luke covered the whole backyard in a huge silver aluminum tent...it was like we were in this large silver tent womb, and we lit it with table lambs, x-mas lights...and spot lights. I have a really large backyard, it was really fantastic! Sara Price came and tons of other Milwaukee folks, and a bunch of NYC friends...it was a hit! After we all performed our acts (I performed a Donovan song "Colors" with Tassy and Lillie (age 7) played the tamborine. But we did it as a sing along, and Sarah Price held up these huge cue cards with the words on them so the crowd could sing along! And they did! It was wonderful because the last lines of that song are about freedom.) other people began going up on the stage and performaing all sorts of songs randomly (the stoner dud sang a song and played guitar with this local singer named SPider that I am a really big fan of)...random NYC acts..lots of guitar and folk singing. It ended with Siebren leading a 2 hour jam...it was such a New York Dream!
A wonderful positive vibe, I felt like I was really part of a community last night..New York is really started to turn itself around for me.
Thanks Theresa for talking me into having the show, it was the best thing I've done here yet.

Thanks Jeff, for saying you like my blog. Although, these days I have seriously been considering taking the whole darn thing down. What with all the problems with posting a picture of my new boyfriend, and my ex-boyfriend seeing it, and flipping out, and weird people that enjoy the idea of enemies looking at my site...and causing problems. You just never know who's looking at your site, and who you can trust. Please everyone let's all try to be positive about ourselves and others.
